One of your best, Erin! You manage to improve with every single piece! Love love love how you did the light here! This is what I'm trying to improve myself( but with not much success by now) Love the design of the chair and that thing on the wall above( sorry I can't find a name for it anyways, very creative stunning work1 I think the fairy seems to be lost in her thoughts/memories... but well I am very bad at giving titles myself
thanks! XD I dont know what to call the thing on the wall either.... an emblem maybe? just a decoration
The light thing is something I learned in school, but just never utilized. I'm starting to notice that all the the things i was taught in school are slowly 'sinking in' and Im beginning to understand them more. as I understand them, I start to use them, and the progress is so much quicker than I would have ever gotten without that schooling. Its very interesting how you can learn something years ago and then suddenly one day you understand it and know how to utilize it properly.
I think your works with light are coming along nicely. With the watercolors I've noticed that leaving enough white paper and using very few and very thin glazes of color really help it seem 'bright' - the fewer layers of color the brighter it seems, so if you mix the color you want and then only pour it on the paper once (rather than adding other color on top once it dries) it has a more translucent effect.
And you did and you put a very pretty fairy in front of it to make it even more attractive. What impressed me the most was the total design and how harmonious everything is and how lovely the coloring. The cracks in the wall lead one to speculate this place is not visited often. She looks like she's thinking gentle thoughts; well she'll be able to without being disturbed.
This is really beautiful. The lighting on the floor is well done. This would be a good piece to play around with in photoshop and harden/straighten up some of the lines, then again the softness is part of what nice about this!
lol you know and with this one I wasnt even trying for something nouveau like? but the architecture style just fell right into it lol. thanks The winder and seat were the whole idea LOL shes just in it to be pretty.
