why? because I cant think of a better title to describe this piece... any better suggestions?

Even though we feel as though we should be able to fly, the burden of reality keeps us tied to the ground. But even so, our dreams fly to us each night, to remind us that our earthly burdens can never completely keep us down.

This painting hurt my brain, and painting thorns is the devil. :/ It sat for a few days as I was stuck on what colors i wanted to use for the background. I finally gave in and just used blue, convincing myself that there *is* an owl in the picture, so it would make sense if it were night-like. I flew with that, and it turned out great!

I was able to get closer to what I wanted with this painting than the last, and it was also a good reminder to me as to why I should, despite what my current state of reasoning suggests, always start with the BACKGROUND and work my way forward >.> you'd make it a lot easier on yourself. really. O.o

and lastly, YAY owls! YAY feathery hair! and Yay for inadvertently making her wings resemble peacock feathers... lol
